Crowley was walking in as Klaus was walking out. It seemed like they crossed paths in the doorway a lot. So much that Crowley was getting a bit annoyed. He sauntered in and found Aziraphale with a book and his cocoa that had long gone cold.

"What are you doing?" he asked, sounding annoyed- which he normally did, so it was hard to say if he was actually upset or not.

Aziraphale looked up, and blinked at him, a touch taken aback by the tone. Which seemed slightly more annoyed than was typical.

"Good afternoon, Crowley," he said politely. "I just finished a conversation about Pride and Prejudice with Klaus Hargreeves. Would you like some cocoa?" He flicked a finger at the mug to heat it.

"Would you like some cocoa?" Crowley mocked in a voice nothing like Aziraphale's. "No. No, I would not, you...harlot."

Aziraphale blinked at him. Baffled. "... pardon?"

[sauntereddownward]

"Pride and Prejudice? The boy is already in love with you, angel," he said in disgust. Not hurt. Definitely not jealousy.

Aziraphale just stared at him. "... what? That's ridiculous."

[sauntereddownward]

"Obliviousness is one of your least attractive qualities, angel," he said, sipping his tea and taking the chair he preferred where he casually draped himself all over it.

"Another crush. Children's hormones," he snorted.

[theangelfell]

"No one has a crush on me," Aziraphale mumbled, his face turning quite pink. "Certainly not Klaus. I'm sure he could have his pick of the other students."

"And why shouldn't he have a crush on you?" Crowley asked, suddenly indignant on the angel's behalf.

"You're a delight. It's what you..." He waved his hand vaguely, "...do."

"You think I'm a delight?" Aziraphale looked at him for a moment and then laughed fondly. "Crowley, I'm practically an old man to them."

"Well, then, how do explain that calf-eyed boy?" Crowley pressed.

[theangelfell]

"He's been a perfect gentleman," Aziraphale insisted, clearly still a little flustered. "Besides, I'm sure there a lot of the students have crushes on you. You're - " And he waved his hand vaguely as if the meaning was clear.

[sauntereddownward]

"Aww ohhh, welllll," he drawled. He wasn't going to disillusion the angel but Crowley did his best to discourage such feelings.

"Maybe you're projecting," Aziraphale said matter-of-factly.

[sauntereddownward]

"Look here, angel. I know what I see," he said, pausing to sip his cocoa. "And if you're going to be all...'my dear' and 'cocoa' and...and...Pride and Prejudice, you're going to have to understand these horny, horny, damaged children are going to fall for you. So don't be obtuse. It's not attractive."

[theangelfell]

"You think that calling them my dear and offering them cocoa makes them..." Aziraphale didn't even say it. "Honestly, my dear." He refilled the cocoa in the cup in front of Crowley.

[sauntereddownward]

Crowley licked his lips and then smacked them loudly.

"There you go. My dear. You really know how to raise a man's interest," he purred.

Aziraphale hadn't even noticed what he'd done. His cheeks went pink. "Don't tease me."

"Would you be more or less mortified if I said I wasn't teasing...angel?" Crowley asked.

[theangelfell]

"I... don't know," Aziraphale stammered, flustered. "You're just - you don't like anyone else having an ounce of my attention, even children."

[sauntereddownward]

"Are any of them even half as interesting as I am?" he asked.

[theangelfell]

"Of course not," Aziraphale said without hesitation.

[sauntereddownward]

Of course not.

Crowley smiled smugly.

"Have you gotten any new books in?" he asked, changing the subject now that he considered himself the winner of that argument.

Aziraphale was still a bit off balance and mostly looked confused. In part because he felt like he'd just admitted something... or Crowley had... but he didn't know what.

Also, Klaus Hargreeves didn't actually have a crush on him did he?

"Oh, um." He cleared his throat. "I procured a couple of new spellbooks that are in the restricted section."

"Take care, angel. The ministry is snooping around. Looking for the dark magics we keep hidden in the backs of the cupboards," he cautioned.

"I'm not promoting dark magic," Aziraphale huffed. "Obviously."
