Crowley had been having a ball. He'd figured out a bit of hackery with some code and some infernal miracles and soon enough he had millions of people angry at social media for long load times, zero refresh rates, and suspensions that came and were lifted seemingly at random.

He was absolutely giddy as he walked into the bookshop. He spied the angel in his chair and went to the one unanimously agreed to be his and flopped down, legs splayed out long and wide.

"Isn't it the most beautiful day?" he said cheerfully.

Never a good sign.

"It sounds... very romantic," said Aziraphale.

[sauntereddownward]

"Do you think so? Perhaps," he replied. "Do you want it to be romantic?"

[theangelfell]

Aziraphale hesitated. "That's... appropriate, right?"

[sauntereddownward]

"I think we've concluded it's not...Bad."

It couldn't be Good, either. Perhaps it was simply Ineffable.

"We could go tonight," Aziraphale offered, and drained the rest of his glass of wine.

[sauntereddownward]

"You want to get on a plane after a night of oysters and wine?" he asked. "I'm sure it lacks romance, but I was thinking we could go shock the houseplants," he smirked.

[theangelfell]

Crowley made a good point. "I worry about your plants though," he sighed. "I don't want to upset them."

[sauntereddownward]

A devilish grin tugged the corner of his mouth high.

"Maybe they like it," he suggested.

[theangelfell]

Aziraphale considered him for a moment and then asked, "What would you idea of romance be?"

[sauntereddownward]

"Awww-ohhh, I don't know. Not really my area, is it? Love? More your sort of thing. What do you think is romantic?" the demon asked slyly.

[theangelfell]

Aziraphale looked down. "Oh honestly, Crowley, how would I know," he mumbled, convinced that whatever he said, Crowley would just make fun of him.

[sauntereddownward]

"Go on. Yes you do," he pushed.

[theangelfell]

Aziraphale looked uncomfortable. "I don't know, I suppose there's something to be said for an effort to make something special, don't you think? And to push away everything else. Just you, like there's nothing else in the world."

[sauntereddownward]

"When I'm with you there may as well not be anything else in the world," he replied. "I don't notice."

[theangelfell]

"Oh," said Aziraphale, and smiled, still looking down. "See, that's quite romantic, Crowley."

[sauntereddownward]

"It's not romantic. It's just true," he replied. "Romance is...lovelorn poetry and severed ears and such."

Perhaps, as a demon, he had a bit of a skewed perspective about 'romance'.

"I think it's romantic," Aziraphale said. Then he hesitated before suggesting, "Why don't we spend the night together, somewhere here in the city? A honeymoon suite with a view of the river."

[sauntereddownward]

"The Ritz?" Crowley grinned.

[theangelfell]

At Crowley's smile, Aziraphale brightened. "Yes please. Don't you think that would be nice?"

[sauntereddownward]

"You. The view. The bed. Yes. Nice," he said, hissing a little on accident.

[theangelfell]

"I think that sounds romantic," Aziraphale said happily, and picked up the last oyster.

[sauntereddownward]

'So you don't want me to cut my ear off?" he teased lightly.

[theangelfell]

"Oh my no, you have very lovely ears," Aziraphale said quickly.

[sauntereddownward]

"Shall we pay the bill then?" he asked, but didn't really ask. He was already pulling out a slim black leather bill fold to pay for their light snack. He was barely containing his excitement of getting Aziraphale alone.

Aziraphale drained the rest of the wine in his glass and smiled, standing when Crowley did.

It felt almost silly, that this still made him nervous. Or maybe that just meant it was still exciting.
